Physicist Joins Mobile Phone Critics In August 2000, more warnings are being sounded about the dangers of mobile phone use. British physicist, Barrie Trower, says that mobile phones should be used as infrequently as possible, as it is certain that the low-level radiation they emit causes physical harm. He says people who use mobile phones over any length of time, from five years up, run the risk of contracting serious diseases such as leukemia and brain tumours. There is also still doubt as to the level of danger posed by mobile phone towers, evident in Western Australian residents' objection to them.
