AegisGuard™ Phone Radiation Shields were discontinued in February, 2005 and superseded by AegisGuard™ LS Radiation Shields. AegisGuard™ Phone Radiation Shields were introduced in 1998 and specifically designed to protect users from cell phone radiation when a cellular phone was in operation and placed against the head. The shielding effectiveness at the front of the phone was between 99.50% to 99.90 at cellular phone operating frequencies between 100 MHz. - 2.6 GHz. at power levels up to 5 Watts. Several studies published since 2000 have suggested the health risks from frequencies below 100 MHz., such as those generated by color displays, batteries and other components within a phone, may be of greater concern than the higher frequencies which exist when a phone is in operation. AegisGuard™ LS Radiation Shields shield the entire phone without affecting product performance, power consumption, or wireless product signal strength in any manner whatsoever. It provides up to 99.996% shielding effectiveness for all cellular phone operating frequencies and power levels and, unlike AegisGuard™ Phone Radiation Shields, provide up to 99.998% shielding effectiveness at low frequencies and power levels beginning at 5 Hz. and 1 milliwatt (0.001 Watt), respectively. It is also compatible with AegisGuard™ Phone Radiation Shields.
